Redwings have arrived, it must be autumn.

It's another blue sky day on Hirta and on my bird walk through the Village this morning I spotted the first redwing of the season.  Day of the first redwing - blue skies and lazy sheep

Redwings mark the start of autumn for me and if other years are anything to go by then we will soon see tens, if not hundreds of these birds making landfall to refuel before continuing their migration south.First redwing of the yearFirst redwing of the year pausing on a wall
