Coffee and cake

26 September 2014
This afternoon I was invited along to the 'coffee and cake' event organised by QinetiQ as part of a national charity event to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. It's likely that we all know someone affected by cancer - I know I do - and many of these people would have faced more challenges without the support of Macmillan nurses, centres and grants. Everyone on island supported the event and it was the perfect combination of a little bit of fun while raising money for a worthwhile cause. Coffee and cake

Tea and coffee was slurped in massive quantities and a mountain of tasty treats, including caramel shortbread, tiffin, Victoria sponge, ginger cake and shortbread, were gobbled. Staff on St Kilda were generous with their donations and over £130 raised.

In total, QinetiQ staff across the Uist range raised in excess of £2000, that's some achievement!
