Another stormy night and another patrol to check for ‘stranded’ birds. This time a shearwater was found. It had a lot of attitude and was very strong. I just about managed to get one clear photo of the bird before it wriggled and latched on to another sensitive bit of skin! After weighing the bird, it was put in a quiet place and then released at dusk.
