Great Skua
Pirates of the air

The great skua breeds only in Iceland, the Faeroe islands, Norway and Great Britain. Another name for the great skua is 'bonxie'. There are about 400 bonxies on St Kilda. These large brown birds will dive-bomb you if go too close to their nest site and sometimes actually hit you on the head with their feet! They will also do this to other sea birds to hassle them to get their food.
