Remembrance Service

6 December 2007

Even though St Kilda is remote and even today cut off from the outside world, world-wide events still touch and affect the place.  Every year a small service of remembrance is held in the Kirk on St Kilda which is attended by those resident on the island.  It’s a time to remember those from St Kilda who were in the services or merchant navy, to remember those who lost their lives in the plane crashes on St Kilda during World War Two and of course to remember those family and friends that we all have, who have lost their lives or been injured in conflict.
